Post Lockdown… Is Digital The Way Forward?

Over the past few months, we have been keeping an eye on the Marketing Industry and how small businesses in particular, should be thinking about creating a strong online presence if they do not have one already. Throughout lockdown, many online sources highlight how all industries have turned to social media platforms to promote their services whilst working from home and adjusting to the ‘new normal’.

It is important to make sure businesses keep an active profile online, whether that be connecting with new and existing clients through their website or via social media channels, which is a great way to expand and grow within the industry. A recent report from Marketing Week states that because of COVID-19, UK marketing budgets have fallen by -50.7% in the second quarter which is down a significant amount from -6.1% in the previous three months due to a severe decline in revenues. Therefore, turning to social media and digital advertising can help boost levels of engagement and know-how for either zero or little cost.

Last week, we took part in an online webinar with the National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors, hosted by Communications Consultant Mark Binnersley. It was interesting to gain an insight into how the current impacts of COVID-19 is affecting many businesses who have not yet started to incorporate digital marketing into their business strategy as they are not confident on which platform is best to utilise.

Over the upcoming weeks / months consumer behaviour will change as lockdown continues to ease for many. However, businesses will still face challenges which is why we are here to help!
