Charity Book - But It's Not Fair
In 2011 we were approached by the ‘Freedom Charity’ having been recommended from another of our charity clients. The project was to conceptualise, design, typeset and print a new book, written by the charity’s co-founder - Aneeta Prem.
In 2014 Aneeta approached us again and asked us if we would like to get involved in the second edition of ‘But It’s Not Fair’. It required a revised cover concept, repaginating and re-typesetting entire book. This due to a further 2 concluding chapters being added to the story. The next challenge was to finalise a colour combination. Aneeta wanted to adopt the ‘Freedom Charity’ branded colour combination to the design. A bronze metallic was then introduced to enhance the existing colour combination and give the book a tactile feel. It was then suggested that a gold background should be added as this would enhance the aesthetic of the book. By doing this, it gave the book a more prestigious feel thus standing out and becoming more alluring to the potential reader. As Edition 2 of ‘But It’s Not Fair’ had a further 2 concluding chapters it was decided that an additional 12 pages should be added.
The entire book was repaginated and typeset to accommodate this along with a number of small authors corrections. Once the content was finalised the book then went into production. 30,000 copies were produced, each lithographically printed in 4 colour process plus a metallic silver pantone, with the outer pages gloss laminated. We are pleased to conclude that Aneeta loves the book!
